‎A member of the House of Representatives has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate and prosecute the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Ms Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, over alleged forgery of the 2023 election results.

‎Rep. Amobi Ogah (LP-Abia), representing Isikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia in the House of Representatives, made the call in a petition submitted to INEC headquarters in Abuja.

‎In the petition, Ogah, who is the Chairman, House Committee on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, alleged that Onyejeocha forged election results in the 2023 National Assembly elections in her bid to upturn the outcome of the polls.

‎Ogah urged INEC to thoroughly probe the matter and carry out all legal actions in the interest of the nation’s electoral system.

‎However, in his reaction to the allegations, Mr Femi Oluwagbemi, the Special Adviser to the Minister, described all the allegations as false.

‎Oluwagbemi said the petition was the handiwork of detractors.
