The Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibril, has launched a scholarship program for 300 Kano indigenes to various universities under the auspices of Barau Jibril Foundation.

‎He said the scholarship would cover artificial intelligence, agriculture, environment, and educational courses.

‎Senator Barau explained that the chosen universities were Obafemi Awolowo University Ile – Ife, Osun state , University of Ibadan, Oyo state , Ahmadu Bello University,Kaduna state and Bayero University, Kano state.

‎According to him, any society desiring development must take its educational system seriously.

‎The Senator representing added that to build a sound and effective educational system in the country, the government could not do it alone.

‎He further acknowledged the impact of sending students for scholarship programmes abroad
