The Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibril, has launched a scholarship program for 300 Kano indigenes to various universities under the auspices of Barau Jibril Foundation.
He said the scholarship would cover artificial intelligence, agriculture, environment, and educational courses.
Senator Barau explained that the chosen universities were Obafemi Awolowo University Ile – Ife, Osun state , University of Ibadan, Oyo state , Ahmadu Bello University,Kaduna state and Bayero University, Kano state.
According to him, any society desiring development must take its educational system seriously.
The Senator representing added that to build a sound and effective educational system in the country, the government could not do it alone.
He further acknowledged the impact of sending students for scholarship programmes abroad
