Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has addressed rumors regarding his health, clarifying that he did not collapse nor was he flown abroad for medical treatment.

Wike made this statement during a visit to inspect ongoing projects in Abuja on Thursday.

He attributed the rumors to individuals spreading misinformation with the intent of distracting the public from serious allegations made by George Nwaeke, the former Head of Service of Rivers State.

Earlier on, Nwaeke had accused suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, of involvement in a plot to destroy the Rivers State House Assembly Complex.

Nwaeke’s claim, made on March 28, 2025, suggested that he had witnessed Fubara handing over a bag of money to Ehie for the purpose.

Both Fubara and Ehie have denied the allegations, asserting that Nwaeke was not in his right mind when making the accusations. In response, Ehie has instructed his lawyer to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Nwaeke.
