Nigerian students have accused the police of being complicit in the alleged murder of Quadri Ogunbode, a 28-year-old graduate of Lagos State University (LASU).

During a press conference, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ogun State Students criticized the Lagos State Police for their slow investigation and failure to declare Quadri’s death as a murder despite clear evidence.

The students expressed concerns that the main suspect’s maternal aunt, a senior police officer, might interfere with the case.

They also highlighted that two suspects had fled to the Republic of Benin, raising suspicions of police complicity.

Quadri was reportedly kidnapped on January 16, 2025, and later found buried near the LASU campus. Four suspects, including a pastor, have been arrested, but the students are demanding a thorough investigation and justice for Quadri’s murder.

They vowed to continue protesting and pressuring authorities until justice is served.
