As the Nation observes this year’s Children’s Day, Governo Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has stressed his administration’s determination to continue to protect the rights of the children.

The Governor in a message issued by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, said he was duty bound to protect children from any form of abuse and suffering

He further stated that it is necessary to also provide children with basic needs of life such as shelter, food, health and education, as they are priceless gifts from God.

The Governor, who expressed concern over the level at which children were getting involved in various forms of social vices, maintained that guardians and parents must rise to the task of inculcating good morals in their wards and children.

While acknowledging the negative impact of insecurity on the Children in the State, Governor Bago said all hands must be on deck to safeguard the children against activities of terrorists and ensure that they do not take to crime.

He also assured that his administration will not relent in initiating various programmes that would propel children to greatness.
