The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has carried out Airstrikes neutralising terrorists and destroying their structures – as part of its contributions to Operations Hadin Kai and Whirl Punch in the Northeast and North Central – respectively.

Spokesman for the Air Force, Edward Gabkwet, in a statement on Sunday, said the insurgents were neutralized on the 3rd of May, 2024 at Chinene, a location tucked inside the Mandara mountain area near Borno State.

According to him, the terrorists were seen assembling for a meeting, when they were neutralised.

He added that seven gun trucks spotted within the same location were also destroy during the aerial assault

The spokesman said terrorists hiding in Allawa village, near Shiroro in Niger State, were also taken out on the same day following credible intelligence, which had revealed the migration of terrorists into the village after the mass exit of locals.

The terrorists were said to have stormed the deserted Allawa community in Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) and torched the community’s Central Primary School.

In the evening of the same day, another group of terrorists also arrived at the location, wielding AK-47 rifles after invading Galapai village in Galadima Kogo District of the same Local Government Area.

Their presence reportedly prompted the deployment of troops who engaged them in a firefight.
