Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has pledged increased support for security forces in the state to improve their effectiveness in ensuring security.
This commitment was announced in a statement on Friday by the Governor’s media aide, Mr. Mamman Mohammed ,he made this pledge while receiving an award from the Nigeria Police Force, recognizing Operation Haba Maza as the best police patrol unit in Nigeria.
He praised the security agencies in the state for their cooperation and collaboration, which have significantly reduced crime rates.
It would be recalled that Governor, Buni established Operation Haba Maza in 2019 as an emergency support to the conventional security agencies in the state.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, also lauded the governor for establishing the outfit and suggested expanding it to other major towns in the state to help combat crime.
He also requested additional vehicles to enhance logistical support for patrols throughout the state.
