Governor Umaru Bago has congratulated Christians in Niger State and Nigeria at large – on the commemoration of Easter

In a message made available to Newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor acknowledged Easter as a significant celebration observed by Christians to mark the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the hallmark of the Christian faith.

He observed that the season symbolizes love, sacrifice and forgiveness as epitomized by Jesus Christ.

While felicitating with the Christians, the Governor called on them to use the Easter season to solemnly reflect and imbibe all the virtues of Jesus Christ.

He also urged christians to take advantage of the period to offer prayers for an end to insecurity in the state in particular and the nation in general

Governor Bago restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to confronting the security challenges bedevilling the State and also assured that he is not resting on his oars to ensure that his objectives for the “New Niger” – were achieved.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State Chapter – has charged Christians to show concern for one another even as they remember to pray for leaders in the country.

The call was made by the Chairman of CAN in Niger State Most Reverend Dr. BULUS DAUWA YOHANNA, in a press release made available to Search FM News.

Most Reverend Yohannah who doubles as the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, reminded christians about the essence of Easter and the implication that it is the celebration of the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death which offers hope to all of mankind

He charged Christians to express love to the less privileged in the society by sharing gifts to the needy, widows, orphans and all those who are in dire need.

The CAN Chairman also emphasized the need for christians to live in peaceful coexistence and pray for Nigeria alongside their Moslem neighbors in who are presently observing the holy month of Ramadan

He acknowledged the efforts of Governor Umaru Bago aimed at transforming Niger State and prayed for God’s guidance and grace for him to pursue and actualize his ‘New Niger’ Agenda.
