Governor Umar Bago has approved the payment of N20,000 wage award for civil servants in Niger State.

The development comes few days after President Bola Tinubu’s appeal to state governments to implement the payment of the wage award to help cushion the effect of the economic challenges being faced faced by citizens

The decision of the Niger State governor to pay the N20,000 wage award was made during the state Executive Council meeting held in Minna on Wednesday.

The governor assured that workers would begin to receive alerts to this effect in due course

The Governor also said there would be free food at various points during the Ramadan while the state government prepares to commence the distribution of palliatives of 120 trucks of grains to ensure food availability in Niger State
