The House of Representatives has commenced investigation into the alleged illegal disposal of public property by some government agencies between 2010 and 2022.

This was disclosed today by the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee set up to conduct the investigation, Professor Julius Ihonbvere.

According to him, the investigation was to unravel the extent of illegal auctioning of public property and non-remittance of revenue realized into the Consolidated Revenue of the Federation.

Professor Ihonbvere noted that written letters have been sent to all the agencies concerned requesting for information on the subject matter.

The committee Chairman assured that they would physically visit the Agencies, examine their books and conduct physical inspection of all public properties acquired to determine the ones sold and procedures adopted for the exercise.

He however advised the Chief Executives of Agencies invited to the hearing to give the Committee the necessary cooperation to enable it to achieve its goals.
