West Ham United have completed the signing of James Ward-Prowse for 30 million pounds on a four-year deal from Southampton.
Ward-Prowse will wear The Hammers’ number 7 shirt and leaves the Saints after making 410 appearances, recording 55 goals and 54 assists.
The 28-year-old becomes West Ham’s second summer signing following the arrival of Edson Alvarez from Ajax, and could make his debut in Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea at the London Stadium.
Ward-Prowse was been a mainstay in The Saints’ side in recent years and won the club’s Player of the Year award in each of the last two seasons.
The midfielder has also represented England at every level from the under-17s to the seniors, where he holds 11 caps with two goals.
His debut came in a 1-nil friendly defeat to Germany in March 2017.
