Gunmen have killed a man in the Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack took place in a low-cost residential estate near the Kankia General Hospital over the night. According to reports, the assailants arrived on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically.
The victim, identified as Alhaji Ibrahim Baraya Solo, attempted to confront the gunmen and was shot dead during the encounter. After the shooting, the gunmen quickly fled the scene, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.
The police spokesperson in the State, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident to the media. He stated that the police have already begun their investigation to apprehend the criminals responsible for this heinous act.
Such incidents highlight the ongoing security challenges in the region and the need for continued efforts to address the issue of armed violence and criminal activities.
