President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the Senate seeking the confirmation of service chiefs.
This was disclosed today in a letter read during plenary by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The senate president, however, said that the service chiefs would be screened by the entire Senate in its chamber at a yet-to-be-announced date.
Senator Akpabio explained that since relevant Standing Committees of the Senate are not in place yet, the Service Chiefs would be screened by the Committee comprising of the entire Senate.
It would be recalled that President Tinubu had last week asked the House of Representatives to confirm the newly appointed service chiefs, which was contained in a letter read at plenary session by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abass Tajudeen.
The new appointees include National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar.
