The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Professor Farouk Adamu Kuta has paid a familiarization visit to some selected schools domiciled at the Bosso campus of the Institution.

Meeting separately on Monday with staff from the school of physical sciences, Live sciences as well as school of Science and Technology Education, Professor Kuta acknowledged the efforts put in thus far by the staff of the schools toward making F.U.T Minna an enviable citadel of learning among its peers in the country – and charged them to key into the agenda of his administration by improving on the successes already attained.

The Vice-Chancellor said he was looking at a system where every staff, regardless of their positions or cadre, would actively participate in the governance of the University….. adding that even though he is the Vice Chancellor, the burden of taking F.U.TMinna to higher heights was not his alone – but a collective one .

The Vice Chancellor thereafter outlined his agenda for the University which primarily centres on making F.U.T Minna globally recognized.
Professor Kuta said it was in cognizance of this drive that he directed that the University’s website be re-designed to be at par with the model of globally renowned institutions, few days into his tenure as the 8th substance Vice Chancellor of the University.

To further engender the drive, the Vice Chancellor said with effect from the next Academic session, e- teaching would be introduced as a part of efforts to make F.U.TMinna a smart University.

Professor Kuta who underscored the numerous benefits associated with e-teaching also spoke on the need for quality research by the Academic staff of the University and encouraged researchers to look beyond having their articles published by National Journals and start aspiring to have publications in High-Impact-Journals of International repute.

On Accreditation, the Vice Chancellor said his objective is to have full accreditation for all Academic Programmes in F.U.TMinna and go a step further, by attaining International accreditation status, for courses by bodies sanctioned by the National University Commission (NUC).
