The Federal Minster of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani has been elected as the Vice Chair of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council.

‎Announcing the historic development on Tuesday, Tijani described his election as a profound honour,

‎He expressed appreciation to the ITU leadership and member states for the trust placed in him.

‎Tijani further disclosed that this role aligned with the national digital priorities, especially as outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

‎The ITU, composed of 48 ITU Member States, is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technologies.

‎The Council acts as the Union’s governing body in the interval between plenipotentiary conferences.
