The Chairman Niger State Football Association (NFA), Ahmed Yusuf, has assured members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Niger state chapter – of closer working ties to actualize set objectives.
The NFA chairman who made the pledge while receiving the new executive members of SWAN who paid him a courtesy visit, said contrary to speculations that the Speaker’s Cup football championship, the brainchild of NFA had been cancelled, the championship aimed at discovering hidden talents across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state was only postponed due to circumstances beyond the organizers.
The chairman congratulated the new executives and encouraged them to put up positive attitude that will guarantee closer working ties between Sports Writers and other key stakeholders in the state – for maximum benefits.
In his remark, the
State Chairman of SWAN, Comrade Mohammed Alhassan Kutigi told the state NFA chairman that the visit was aimed at exploring opportunities for the common benefits of the two professional bodies.
Kutigi told his host that SWAN as major stakeholder in sports growth and development is ready to partner government and other corporate partners towards achieving desired objectives of promoting the different sporting activities in Niger state .
