The Presidency has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu, though currently in Europe, continues to actively oversee the country’s affairs.

In a statement released on Thursday, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu remains in close contact with top government officials, including security chiefs, despite being on a short working visit abroad. He’s expected back in Abuja after the Easter holiday.

The President is currently in London after leaving Paris over the weekend, where he’s said to be reviewing his administration’s performance and planning for upcoming reforms.

But criticism is mounting back home. Labour Party’s Peter Obi and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar have called for Tinubu’s immediate return, citing rising insecurity across the country. They say the President should be on ground to address the crisis, especially after over 150 Nigerians were reportedly killed in recent attacks.

Despite the backlash, the Presidency insists governance continues without disruption and urges Nigerians to remain calm.
