Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived Dakar, Senegal, on Thursday to represent President Bola Tinubu at the country’s 65th Independence Day celebrations.
Upon arrival, Shettima was greeted with a Guard of Honour at the Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport in Dakar.
He was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, and the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Oluwole Oke.
Shettima is attending the event on behalf of President Tinubu, who was invited by Senegalese President Bassirou Faye.
The Independence Day celebration will take place on Friday at the Place de la Nation in Dakar.
