Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is home to Islam’s holiest sites, has announced the date for the commencement of Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting period

In a statement issued on Saturday, authorities in Saudi Arabia said Sunday, the 30th of March, 2025, would be observed as the first day of Eid al-Fitr

The timing of Eid al-Fitr is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon in accordance with the Muslim lunar calendar.

The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have also announced that Sunday would be the first day of the holiday.

Meanwhile Oman and Shiite-majority Iran said that Eid al-Fitr would start on Monday.
