The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, has assured Nigerians of a peaceful Eid-el-Fitri celebration, following the deployment of a large number of personnel across the country.

Audi, in a statement issued on Saturday, by the NSCDC Spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, confirmed that the Corps had activated its officers in various zones, states, and formations to ensure a smooth holiday period.

He also addressed recent security concerns, particularly the attacks on pipeline installations, emphasizing that any act of vandalism targeting critical national assets and infrastructure would not be tolerated due to its detrimental impact on the nation’s economy.

According to the statement, Audi commended the joint efforts of the armed forces, the Department of State Services, the police, and the NSCDC in thwarting a recent attempt by vandals to attack oil installations in the Allu-Rumuekpe area of Rivers State.

He stressed that effective collaboration among security agencies was key to combating crime and maintaining public safety.

The Commandant General further called on the public to support the Corps by providing credible information and intelligence to help prevent any attacks on vital infrastructure and maintain law and order.
