Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has reassured residents that his role is to restore stability, not as a political figure but as a neutral force focused on governance.

In a state address, Ibas emphasized his dedication to upholding civil liberties and maintaining public safety, while warning against crude oil sabotage and violence.

He urged the community to resist returning to past conflicts and commended President Bola Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency in Rivers, which he believes is vital for restoring stability and economic growth.

Ibas, a native of the Niger Delta, expressed empathy for the hardships caused by the ongoing political crisis and stressed the need for collective effort from all parties to resolve the situation.

He warned that lawlessness would not be tolerated, and urged the community to focus on moving past destructive behaviors, particularly attacks on oil infrastructure.

After meeting with the State Security Council, Ibas outlined strategies to reduce tensions and prevent further conflict, pledging to work closely with national leadership to ensure Rivers State emerges stronger.
