The Federal Government has approved the mobilisation of full-time Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, in a statement released in Abuja by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo.
Dr. Alausa clarified that only graduates who completed full-time HND programmes are eligible for the NYSC mobilisation, resolving a long-standing issue that previously excluded them. Part-time HND graduates, however, remain ineligible.
Meanwhile, The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been directed to compile data for eligible full-time HND graduates, while polytechnics are required to upload graduate information to a new HND admission portal.
This portal will serve as the official database for NYSC mobilisation, addressing previous issues with admission records.
The minister then encouraged eligible graduates to start their mobilisation process.
He also emphasized the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all qualified Nigerian graduates to participate in the NYSC programme and contribute to national development.
