The Niger State Government has launched a school farm project at SUBEB Model School in Minna, aimed at empowering students with modern farming and entrepreneurial skills.

The initiative seeks to create a new generation of farmers and entrepreneurs who can provide food and create jobs.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hadiza Mohammed, emphasized that the program aligns with the Federal Government’s policies, requiring secondary school graduates to have at least two entrepreneurial skills.

Meanwhile, the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) is introducing 15 skills to basic schools and upgrading its guidance and counseling unit.

However, Students expressed enthusiasm, eager to gain hands-on farming experience.

This project is part of the state’s efforts to promote sustainable development, improve livelihoods, and ensure food security.
