The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed that David Parradang, the former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, was found dead in a hotel room in Abuja.

According to a statement by the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the retired official checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on Monday, March 3, 2025, at around 12:00 PM, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay and later requested hotel staff to escort a female visitor to his room.

The woman reportedly left the premises around 4:00 PM, after which Parradang remained in his room and did not come out.

At approximately 4:00 AM the following day, a military officer and friend of Parradang, concerned for his wellbeing, traced him to the hotel. With assistance from the hotel receptionist, they entered his room and found him dead, seated in a chair.

Police from the Durumi Division were immediately alerted. Officers arrived at the scene, secured the area, took photographs, and gathered evidence. His body was later taken to the National Hospital for further examination, and hotel staff members are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The police have dismissed rumors that Parradang was kidnapped and murdered, urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause panic.

“The FCT Police Command is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of his death. We appreciate public cooperation and understanding as we work towards ensuring justice is served,” Adeh stated.
