Niger State – Uncertainty surrounds a suspected raid at White Hill Hotel in Minna, Niger State, as conflicting reports emerge about who was responsible.

Some witnesses claim the operation was carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), while others believe it was a bandit attack.

According to sources, a group of heavily armed men stormed the hotel around 5 a.m., disabled the CCTV cameras, and carried out the raid without identifying themselves as security personnel.

“The attackers arrived early in the morning, shut down all security cameras, and conducted the operation without any resistance. They overpowered the security guards and went from room to room, taking people away to an unknown location,” an eyewitness said.

Some sources suggest the attack may have been planned, as there were reports that foreign nationals (believed to be white men) were staying at the hotel and might have been targeted.

“We heard that at least ten people were taken. This is the second time this hotel has been raided this year—the first attempt in January didn’t succeed,” another witness added.

When asked about the incident, Niger State Police Command Spokesman, Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, said the police were not involved and were not informed about the raid.

“There are two police stations near the hotel—Tudun Wada and Morris Police Stations—but the hotel management did not report the incident. Since some say EFCC officials were involved, it’s best to confirm with them, not the police,” he stated.

As of now, the whereabouts of the abducted individuals remain unknown, and no contact has been made with their families or the hotel management.
