Over 28 terrorists have been killed in strikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The NAF Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.
He said the operation was conducted by the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch and targeted terrorists in Bassa, following a request for air support from forces in the area.
According to him, the strikes were decisive, neutralizing dozens of terrorists in consecutive passes.
He noted that the successful operation underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to protecting the nation and supporting sister services and other security agencies.
The Air Force assured citizens of continued air operations, both independently and in collaboration with surface forces, to address all threats to the peace and security of the nation.
