The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rains from Wednesday to Friday across the country.

According to its weather outlook, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna States.

In the North Central region, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Niger states during the morning hours.

The agency noted that winds may precede rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur.

NiMet advised the public to take necessary precautions and adhere to safety advisories issued by relevant authorities.

The agency also directed airline operators to obtain flight documentation and weather reports for effective planning of their operations.

Residents are urged to avoid flood-prone areas, as there is a high likelihood of urban flooding in major cities due to heavy downpours.
