The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson – has reaffirmed Government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding Civil Servants who demonstrate exceptional diligence, integrity, accountability, and a citizen-centered approach in their duties.
The Head of Service, who stated this in Abuja during an interactive session with top management staff at the weekend, underscored the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the patriotic contributions of Civil Servants.
Mrs. Walson-Jack stressed the critical role of the Civil Service in delivering on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that the primary purpose of the Civil Service is to serve the Nigerian people effectively.
The Rewards and Recognition System provided for in the Public Service Rules 2021, is a key component of the 6th pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025.
The system is designed to recognize and reward significant contributions by Civil Servants, even in the face of challenges, thereby creating role models, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting the attainment of the goals and objectives of Ministries, Extra-Ministerial Departments, and Agencies.
In his remark, a Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Raymond Omachi expressed gratitude for the leadership of the Head of Civil Service and prayed for continued wisdom and divine guidance as she leads the ongoing efforts to reposition the Civil Service for greater efficiency and excellence.
