President Bola Tinubu is set to present the whistle-blowing policy to the National Assembly for legislative action.

This was revealed on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun during a meeting in Abuja

Edun said the Federal Government expected the support of citizens in making the policy work towards promoting transparency and accountability.

He stated that the policy provided mechanisms for protection and these provisions were to be upheld while those who came forward in the interest of the public were to be supported

According to him, a successful whistle-blowing policy involved receiving verifiable reports, conducting thorough probing to authenticate them, and taking proper actions to enforce compliance with the law.

The minister stated that the policy was part of the government’s strategy to ensure the nation’s public institutions operated with integrity.
