At least nine Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank, in what Israel called a counter-terrorism operation
The Israeli operation began at midnight with at least four Palestinian cities Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus and Tubas being targeted at the same time
Earlier, Palestinian officials said at least 11 people had been killed while Hamas confirmed six of its fighters died in Jenin
The raids are believed to be the first time since the second intifada – a major Palestinian uprising from 2000 to 2005 – where several Palestinian cities were targeted simultaneously
Meanwhile in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry said 58 people were killed in Israeli attacks over the past day.
