The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has announced plans to collaborate with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to educate its members on suitable practices

This was contained in a communique signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Bala Usman Chamoo and National Treasurer, Hon. Gazel Babatunde, at the end of the 49th National Executive Council Meeting of ALGON in Abuja

The NEC of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) concluded on Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement, Service Delivery and Expectations, Advocacy and Partnerships, Implementation of Supreme Court Judgement, among others.

The commission expressed optimism on the anticipated positive outcomes resulting from the realization of the autonomy gains, as the practices included procurement, financial management, due process, accountability, and transparency.

The resolutions underscored ALGON’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the interests of local government councils and enhancing service delivery to citizens.
