Federal Government Announces Increase in National Passport Fees Effective September 1, 2024 | Search Media

The Federal Government has increased the fees for the acquirement of a National Passport with effect from the 1st of September, 2024.

This was revealed in a statement by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) spokesman, DCI Kenneth Udo

He said the increment was a part of the government’s efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

According to the statement, a 32-page Passport booklet with 5-year validity previously charged at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00) would now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00); while a 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity which was Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00) would be One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) only

Udo further added that the fees remained unchanged for Nigerians in Diaspora.

The NIS expressed regrets about any inconvenience the increase might cause prospective applicants

It further assured citizens of it’s unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.
