The need for the management of Institutions of Higher Learning to adopt prudent management practice has been underscored by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta.

The Vice Chancellor who issued the advice this morning during an interactive session to mark the launch of new sound equipment at Search FM 92.3 Campus Radio said the advice had become necessary owing to the limited resources to address ever growing needs amid the present economic crunch bedeviling the country.

Professor Kuta who touched on the challenges some universities are facing with regards to debts owed to electricity distribution companies, disclosed that F.U.T Minna has been able to foot it’s electricity bills despite running one of the cheapest undergraduate programmes in the country because management has imbibed a culture of setting priorities and managing resources to address them

The Vice Chancellor also spoke on issues bordering around his policies, challenges, relationship with students and staff of the university as well as host communities and set objectives he aims to achieve before the end of his tenure – among other issues
