ASUU FUT Minna Branch Calls on Government to Meet Demands to Avert Another Strike | Search Media

The Academic Staff University Union of Universities (F.U.T Minna Branch) has added its voice to growing calls by branches from other Institutions on the need for government to meet a number of demands in order to avert another industrial action

Speaking at the Suleimanu Convocation Square of the Main Campus of the University in Gidan Kwano on Monday, the Chairman of ASUU (F.U.TMinna Chapter), Professor Bolarin Gbolahan underscored the need for students to be kept abreast of developments to enable them appreciate the agitation of the union

According to him, a number of demands on the agreement reached between ASUU and the Federal Government in 2009 remain unfulfilled; leading to a series of strikes ever since; a trend which ASUU wants to put an end to – once and for all

Professor Gbolahan stated some of the reasons why lecturers could decide to embark on another industrial action, should Government fail to do the needful within the ultimatum already handed down by the Union
