The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU (Federal University Dutse Branch) has issued a three weeks ultimatum for its demands to be met – in order to avert an industrial action.
Chairman of ASUU at the University, Comrade Salim Ahmed issued the warning at an emergency press conference held at the ASUU Secretariat in Dutse on Wednesday
The ASUU chairman said the renegotiation of the FG/ASUU 2009 agreement contained all the core issues still waiting to be addressed; including Members welfare, University Autonomy, Funding for Revitalization of Nigerian Universities and Proliferations of Public Universities.
He added that other issues in contention included what he called the Illegal dissolution of Governing Councils in the Federal and State Universities, non-release of three and a half of the outstanding seven months withheld salaries to lecturers
Ahmed disclosed that the union would, within the next three weeks, set machinery in motion to further mobilize its members for further action.
