A Federal High Court in Kano will decide on June 20, 2024, whether to nullify the new Kano Emirate Law established by the government of Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The decision follows a motion by Aminu Babba Danagundi’s counsel challenging the law’s validity.
The court refused a stay of proceedings request from the Kano State House of Assembly, prompting an appeal notice and motion for a stay of execution.
Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman noted that no formal stay of proceedings application was before the court, allowing the pending application to proceed.
