No fewer than three persons have reportedly died in yet another mining pit collapse in Niger State
The latest incident which occured in Adunu community, Paikoro Local Government Area was confirmed by the Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba’arah.
The mining site is said to be an illegal mining site that attracts mostly women and children from the community.

Chairman of the Miners Association of Nigeria, Yusuf Shuaibu, had earlier told Newsmen that the association mobilised a team for on-the-spot assessment of the scene of the incident with support from the government of Niger State.
Other persons initial trapped in the pit along with the dead … have since been rescued
