Kwara State University has a new Vice Chancellor.
He is Professor Shaykh-Lukman Jimoh
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye, the appointment of Professor Jimoh is coming after he served in an acting capacity as the Vice Chancellor for 19 months.
The appointment follows the outcome of the screening exercise of the university’s governing council where the University Don placed first among candidates.
Recall that the appointed Vice Chancellor served as the Acting Vice Chancellor of KWASU following the death of Professor Mohammed Mustapha-Akanbi in November 2022.
Prior to filling the role, he was Deputy Vice Chancellor between 2020 and 2022.
The 60-year old Professor is a Fellow/member of many professional bodies, such as the Chartered Institute of Public Advocacy and Management and the Council of Experts for International Centre on Contemporary Research in Islamic Sciences (United Kingdom.)
