The Police Service Commission has a new chairman in the person of Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hashimu Argungu
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Argungu to head the commission on Monday
He replaces former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, who was appointed to the position by former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2023.
According to a statement issued by media aide to President Tinubu, Ajuri Ngelale – the President also appointed of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary of the Commission and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Retired) as Member.
Noting that the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate, Ngelale said that other members of the Police Service Commission would be appointed in due course.
The statement added that the President expects the appointees to showcase absolute integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of their duties in the overall interest of the Nigeria Police and the nation.
