In fulfilment of a promise he made few weeks ago during the unveiling of the new Search Media Mobile Application, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Professor Farouk Adamu Kuta has rewarded the App developer, Mr Paul Ajonye – with a cash gift.

Speaking shortly before the presentation at the conference room of the Mohammed Badamasi Babangida (MBB) House on Thursday, the Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Chairman, Search Media Board, Professor A.O Osunde, said the move was part of management’s renewed efforts to encourage members of the university community, including students, who have special skills – to come up with innovations that would benefit the university and by extension – serve humanity.

He acknowledged that there were very talented students with technical skills in the University, referencing how most local problems at Search FM are addressed by volunteers in-house rather than by paid technicians from outside the university community.

Professor Kuta expressed hope that by rewarding the App developer with the cash gift which he described as a token, other equally talented students at F.U.T Minna would be motivated to deploy the skills to meeting needs or solving problems on campus and the society at large.

Shortly after receiving his cash gift of a Hundred Thousand Naira, the recipient who is a 500-level student of Mechanical Engineering and a volunteer at Search Media, appreciated the university management for the kind gesture and promised to make the mobile app even better by adding additional features in the coming weeks

Highlight of the event included group photography involving the representative of the vice chancellor, the app developer, staff and volunteers at search media as well as a delegation from the university’s information unit

With the new mobile app, the public can enjoy improved experience monitoring need and programmes as well as
making enquiries, suggestions and complaints…digitally

The IOS version of the app can be downloaded on App store (by Apple Inc), while it’s android version is available on Google Playstore.
