President Bola Tinubu has established a Presidential Committee on Climate Action and Green Economic Solutions to coordinate and oversee all policies and programmes on climate action and green economic development.
The Committee is to be Chaired by the President himself, while the Minister of Environment, Mister Balarabe Lawal will serve as the Vice Chairman.
The special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale will serve as the Secretary of the Committee while doubling as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action.
A statement by the Director, Information & Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Segun Imohiosen saif the Committee will remove the constraints to coordination and foster a full-frontal government approach to climate-action programmes as well as provide an efficient architecture that would plug into the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda on climate action.
