FIFA is set to carry out a legal assessment before it makes a decision on whether to agree to Palestine’s call to suspend the Israeli Federation – over the war in Gaza.
The Palestinian Federation (PFA) had called for a vote to exclude Israel at FIFA congress in Bangkok on Friday, a move supported in the room by the Jordanian F.A.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said it was a matter for the FIFA’s Council to make a decision on, following a legal assessment.
The war in Gaza began after Hamas attacked Israel on the 7th of October, 2023, killing about 1,200 people.

Shino Moshe Zuares, the president of the Israel Football Association has described the proposal as a cynical, political and hostile attempt by the Palestinian association to harm Israeli football.
FIFA President, Gianni Infantino says a legal assessment of the allegations made by the P.F.A would be undertaken urgently, with the FIFA Council convening an extraordinary congress in late July to address the issue.
