Nigerian Senate vows to protect rights of journalists

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has reassured Nigerian media practitioners of their rights being protected.

This was contained in statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Honourable Eseme Eyiboh, he highlighted Senate President commitment to press freedom, especially acknowledging the sacrifices made by journalists for truth and justice.

Senator Akpabio emphasized the 10th National Assembly’s dedication to strengthening press freedom and ensuring the protection of journalists’ rights.

He further urged the media industry to take a proactive role in setting an agenda on climate change and educating the public.
