The Federal Government has sacked all directors of civil aviation agencies in the country.

Their dismissal announced on Thursday follows the sacking of the chief executive officers of same civil aviation agencies

 

In a statement issued to the press, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said all the affected directors should hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates with immediate effect.

 

The affected agencies include the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMET), Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigerian Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

 

The government said the move was aimed at repositioning the aviation industry and ensuring a safe and efficient air travel experience for Nigerians – in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

New heads have been appointed at the affected agencies

They are :-
Engineer Umar Ahmed Farouk who is now the Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku who is now in charge at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

 

Mr Alex Badeh Jr. has been appointed Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) while
Professor Charles Anosike is now the substantive Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET)

Mr Joseph Shaka Imalighwe will function as the Acting Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), pending the appointment of a substantive Rector in line with Section 13 (sub-section 2) of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Act, 2022.
