Vice Chancellor Reveals Motive Behind Abduction of University Students in Katsina | Search Media

The Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Katsina, has disclosed a chilling motive behind the recent abduction of five female students from the University’s Dutsin Ma campus in Katsina State.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Mr. Armaya’u Bichi, the terrorists responsible for the kidnapping were seeking retribution for an earlier attack on the relatives of certain members within their ranks by security operatives.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Bichi detailed how the abductors conveyed their motivations during negotiations aimed at securing the release of the kidnapped students.

The female students were forcibly taken from their off-campus residence in the Mariamoh Ajiri area of Dutsin Ma town on that fateful Wednesday.

While the Vice Chancellor did not confirm whether the abductors had demanded a ransom for the students’ release, he did emphasize that the university, in collaboration with security agencies, is diligently working to secure the safe return of the abducted students.

The incident in Katsina State highlights a disturbing trend of banditry and criminal activities in the North-west region of Nigeria.
