NLC Threatens to Embark on Strike Without Notice If FG Increases Fuel Price Again | Search Media

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has warned that its members will commence a nationwide strike without any formal notice if the Federal Government approves another increase in the pump price of petrol without conclusion of ongoing negotiations.
This was disclosed today by the NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero at the ongoing African Alliance of Trade Unions meeting in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
While reacting to the advice of the Registrar of Trade Unions on how labour should conduct themselves as they carry out their responsibilities of protecting the interest of workers and Nigerians by extension, Comrade Ajaero pleaded with the Federal Government to change what he described as bad economic policies that make the wages next to nothing.
He threatened that its affiliate unions will commence strike immediately at the shortest notice from its headquarters.
