Federal Government Reiterates Commitment to Girl-Child Education | Search Media

Federal Government says it is committed to resolving issues of girl-child education and gender empowerment.

This was disclosed yesterday by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, when he received the delegation led by the UN Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, Mrs. Amina Mohammed at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him, the Federal Government will promote policies and programmes geared towards achieving the feat.

Vice President Shettima noted that his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unequivocally committed to the girl-child education and gender empowerment initiatives

The Vice President commended the UN Deputy Secretary-General and the Co-founder of Malala Fund, Ms. Malala Yousafzai, for their efforts in promoting girl-child education among other initiatives.

He assured the Malala Fund of the Federal Government’s partnership with the organisation for the greater good of Nigeria.

In her remarks, the UN Deputy Secretary-General commended the Federal Government for their efforts in promoting goals 4 and 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals, observing progress in the areas of gender equity and education of girls across the country.
