The Spanish government has announced that the country’s top flight, La Liga, could resume as early as next month.
The Country’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez who made the announcement while speaking to reporters, said the Spanish league could resume from the 8th of June.
Mr Sanchez added that the country had done what it needed to do for a return to status quo after weeks of Lockdown due to Covid-19
The announcement comes four days earlier than when the division had hoped to hold the restart of the suspended 2019-20 season.
Spanish clubs were given the go-ahead to restart training this week; two months after the coronavirus brought the game to a halt across Europe.
