President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a major military crackdown on bandits and kidnappers in Katsina state.
This was made known in a statement released on Sunday by the senior special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Mallam Shehu revealed that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, was currently working out the modus operandi of a major military operation to flush out bandits in Katsina State.
He said a major proactive operation by Special Forces was now in force, to replace the counter- strikes against insurgent camps in the state.
According to the statement, a planning team had been dispatched to the state, with the mandate to select targets and make preparations for the launch of an unprecedented operation.
