Non-Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Varsities commences warning strike | Search Media

The Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) have directed their members to embark on a five-day warning strike.

The directive was contained in a statement jointly signed by NASU General Secretary, Comrade Peters Adeyemi and SSANU president, comrade Samson Ugwoke.

It revealed that the decision to embark on the warning strike follows the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum given to the Government and its failure to show commitment towards issues bordering on payment of earned allowances, university staff schools matter and renegotiation of the 2009 agreements of its members.

The statement also tasked all branches on mobilizing their members to ensure compliance, stressing that defaulters would be sanctioned accordingly
